"Today a young man realised that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness, experiencing itself subjectively. There's no such thing as death - life is only a dream -
and we're the imagination of ourselves."
~ Bill Hicks ~

"Your life is a spiritual journey disguised as a physical experience."
~ Carolyn Myss ~

The Journey is the ever-evolving experience of self discovery to full potential until we "Become Love"; until we start operating on a level of Soul Consciousness.

It started in the timelessness of infinity; and the current journey began when we were but "a twinkle in the eye", in the place that is true home.

There we planned all the details of our present incarnation and created the perfect life scenario to provide everything necessary to teach us what we decided we were coming to learn and experience. So already we are not the victims of our childhood circumstances, physical or material hardships.

But all this wonderful foresight is deliberately erased from conscious memory when we arrive here! And the new journey becomes one of remembering through re-awakening and re-connecting...

"What is necessary to change a person is to change
his awareness of himself"
~ Abraham H. Maslow ~

Until we change our awareness of ourselves, we are victims of life, pawns at the hands of the mythical "gods", and life has no real purpose except to live out some allotted time span.

But with change in awareness of who we really are, life takes on new meaning and purpose as a profoundly privileged experience.

The journey encompasses all of the following awareness shifts:

"I am not my thoughts, emotions, sense perceptions, and experience. I am not the content of my life. I am life. I am the space in which all things happen. I am consciousness. I am the Now."
~ Eckhart Tolle ~

including connection to an eternal and loving Divine Source & Creator

In the physical world of body

(Tip: A simple way to identify with the energy concept is to observe a candle flame. What stands out immediately is the flame itself, but closer scrutiny will reveal a shimmering, auric energy field around the flame. That part is what we truly are).

In the spirit world of soul

We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are

governing interpretation of human interaction, events and experiences

Awareness of who and what we are is not sufficient to effect true spiritual growth without including experiential perception change.

In the mental world of mind

Viewing and responding to the world as human-ego or human-soul yields two totally different experience interpretations. If I am human-ego, I see something one way; if I am human-soul, I see it another way...

Human-ego will say "He/she abuses me"
Human-soul will say "What feelings of unworthiness do I hold that cause these relationship patterns where I seemingly allow and say yes to abusive behaviour?"

Human-ego will say "He/she shouts at me all the time for no reason"
Human-soul will say " I see behind this tirade to another's anger and fear being projected onto me (therefore I do not take it personally, nor do I judge, nor do I react), and I also acknowledge that I perhaps need to look within myself for any suppressed anger of my own that I am perhaps not aware of"

Human-ego says: "Grrrrr! He/she is making me angry!"
Human-soul says: "Is my anger valid? What personal issue am I perhaps deflecting outwards and taking out on this poor hapless individual!"

Together with self awareness, then, the journey on a spiritual path includes undoing and correcting false perception.

Just as water can be solid, liquid, or gaseous, consciousness can
be "frozen" as physical matter, "liquid" as mind and thought,
or formless as pure consciousness
~ Eckhart Tolle ~

choosing ego consciousness or soul consciousness

After awakening to awareness of who and what we really are, and after looking into our belief systems to uncover distorted experience interpretations, we start the process of shifting consciousness into the direction ofhighest potential.

There are many dimensions through which we experience reality, and we live them all simultaneously. In terms of human experience, there are two primary dimension categories:

"Consciousness" describes our application of levels of awareness; the level and way in which we see things. Awareness itself does not automatically imply a change in consciousness as we can be aware of our true self and that of others, yet still behave in lower level consciousness terms.

Effective spiritual growth requires applying bigger picture "spiritual eyes" to every dimension of life - from material possessions, to interpersonal relationships, to self-evaluation, to intention, to thought and deed.

For example: Realising that money is an exchange energy and being in gratitude for the convenience it provides (spiritual/soul consciousness), but not measuring oneself by one's wealth or controlling others with it (ego consciousness); that tolerance and forgiveness (spiritual/soul consciousness) is a higher path than vengeance (ego consciousness); that power comes from higher levels of consciousness, whereas force comes from the fear-based lower levels of unconsciousness.

The spiritual journey is the soul's life commingling with ordinary life
~ Christina Baldwin ~

Living the journey is about learning to blend two worlds; the material world we live in, and the unseen world from which we come; to live firmly in this world, but always within the contextual awareness that we are not of this world.

All that exists is fear, or love...
(or call them by their other names - ego, or Soul).

We are not advanced enough to master living Soul every second of every day, and we will fail and fail again, of that there is no doubt! But the journey is one of practising ever-increasing conscious awareness of when we are living and expressing fear, or love.

By striving for our highest potential, by honouring and acting on deepest truth, all else must follow.

It's not necessary to focus intensely on hunting down our lessons, or to expend endless energy trying to manifest things in our lives, or desperately imploring for and seeking answers... simply BE higher consciousness, and everything will follow as a natural attraction to a spirit-based energy field which is in alignment with the Creative Source.

"Therefore, when I say that 'I love,' it is not I who love, but in reality
Love who acts through me. Love is not so much something I do
as something that I am.
~ Robert A. Johnson ~

"Spirituality" is the latest fad, the new "in thing"!
And it is good for our planet that it is.

But simply "knowing" something is not the same as "being" something.

The Tibetan teacher, Chogyam Trungpa, also warns of the trap of spiritual materialism. He says we must be ever diligent to spot the ego’s use of the spiritual journey to further its own ends.

The goal of "The Journey" is therefore authentic living.

Do I "walk my talk"?
Is my spirituality in my heart, or in my head?

While all religions may argue and fight about their different theological ideas of God's way, they all agree on one thing: that God is Love.

We become love" when we live in accordance with our higher self, when thought, action and word are governed by spirit.

When I am in higher consciousness in my intentions and to another, I am a piece of God come down to and touching earth. In alignment with spirit, I am Love.

"I may be able to speak the languages of men and even of angels...
I may have the gift of inspired preaching; I may have all knowledge and understand all secrets; I may have all the faith needed to move mountains - but if I have no love, I am nothing"
~ 1 Corinthians 13:1-2 ~

"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud
was more painful than the risk it took to blossom"
~ Anaĩs Nin ~

I am alive
(well, sort of)

It's more an existence of
endless happenings that make no sense
over and over and over...

There must be more to life than this
In desperation I call to God
(I don't know why, it's an instinct)

A strange co-incidence happens
I meet someone, hear something
It's a window opening to a new dawn
and I am stirred in awakening...

I dive into the depths
Tempting illusion falls away to soul reality
and now my wounds heal
I stand on the mountain top of heart-mind view
seeing the world and people with new eyes

My own life is miraculously changing
I am its master, not its victim
Self-created obstacles teach me, grow me
and the humans of my pain are my contractual soul-loves

I am so much bigger than I thought
but my bigness pales to the Infinite Vastness of
the Unseen Holy, visibly everywhere
and this life is not alpha and omega
but only a part

My eyes awaken in their gaze on others
your story, my story, we are all the same
Our paths criss-cross on this experiential playground
and I become your co-incidence

I live with feet firmly on earth, and
heart-soul firmly in unseen spirit sky
All life's sad bad good continue -
only sad bad now transcended in wisdom
and I am no longer chained in grief anger blame

I am not perfect... but that does not matter...
I accept and look beyond my humanness and yours
I try and fail... and fail and try again...
I am becoming Love

and now
I AM alive
